  • Mental Health Court

The goal of the Mental Health Court program in Lee County is to provide appropriate treatment and rehabilitation options to adults with a history of mental health problems who are charged with a misdemeanor crime excluding DUI, domestic violence and battery.  The program provides referral, linkage, and case coordination between the judicial system and local mental health and social service agencies.  Intervention plans incorporate the least restrictive and clinically appropriate services based on individual choice and needs, including but not limited to outpatient mental health counseling and psychiatric care, family and/or grief counseling; substance abuse evaluation and follow-up care; assistance finding safe, adequate and affordable housing; education or job training assistance, supportive employment, adult education, and legal counseling.
